Nocturnia is a series of tales, really, that take place in a world closely tied to that of Winter Sidhe. If one looks back at some of the older mythology dealing with the interactions between the mortal world and that of the sidhe and fae, you will not find many cute little Ferngully types here. I have longed loved the darker, more somber aspect of sidhe lore, portraying sidhe at best as selfish tricksters, at their worst as manipulating cruel -if beautiful- creatures. This collection of stories is my attempt at modern -if dark- fairy tales. It will deal mostly with sidhe and mortals, but likely will also incorporate several of the other Elder races, including some of my creation. It will be told more as a graphic novel than a webcomic, and the style maybe a bit bizarre. I could reassure you, but frankly this isn't likely to change over the course of the tale, as it was chosen for a reason.
Overview:
The first tale you see here is "Scheherazade", which I intend to last for a total of 5 cantos, each having ten parts. In broad strokes- as I do not wish to reveal much of the plot- "Scheherazade" is the story of twin brothers Damien and Adrian. It explores both their complex relationship, and what results from their encounters with the world of sidhe.

A humanities and English joint major still in university, Adrian is the protagonist of Scherazade, and the story is told from his point of view. He is on his last semester of classes, lives in the university residences and is generally a quiet guy who mostly keeps to himself. | |

Damien:

Adrian's twin brother and his polar opposite in many ways. Also in his last semester, he was more given to partying and wild schemes than his brother. Bright and charismatic by nature, he had a rather large group of friends that Adrian never quite related to. The tale begins at his funeral wake. | |

Kei:

|
Damien's ex, and in some ways Adrian's most detested person. Kei is usually the quiet, manipulative sort. | |

Trev:

|
Adrian's best friend, a student of philosophy with no read hurry to graduate. He met both Adrian and Damien when they first entered university. | |
